Electric Funeral by Black Sabbath is about destruction, fear, and the consequences of human actions. I connect to this song because there have been times in my life where everything feels overwhelming, like things are spiraling out of control. The dark tone of the song reflects that feeling of chaos and not knowing how to stop it. The song itself is about a world destroyed by nuclear war, where humanity suffers because of its own decisions. In a way, that connects to how I’ve felt during my struggles, like I’m dealing with the consequences of my own thoughts and emotions. The band behind the song included Ozzy Osbourne on vocals, Tony Iommi on guitar, Geezer Butler on bass, and Bill Ward on drums.

Would is about struggle, and the struggle of my life has been me facing the fact that I will never be perfect. It’s also about people judging you while you’re struggling. Which I have suffered a lot from. The song Would was originally created as a tribute to late Mother Love Bone singer Andrew Wood, who died of a heroin overdose in 1990. Andrew Wood was always seen by his friends and band mates as a youthful up beat guy, and when he died he left an impact on the people around him. An impact so profound that it led to one of the best songs Alicia and Chains has created.

I chose paranoid because I’ve always struggled with anxiety and depression for most of my life. My anxiety has been so bad to the point where I would always think people were talking negatively about me, like I was paranoid. Paranoid was originally written as a filler track last minute back in 1970. The band was out on lunch break and wrote the song within minutes to meet producer requirements. The creators of the song even say that the song is about being paranoid and not knowing who is talking behind your back. The band behind it was actually the product of many different people, but the main three were Ozzy Osbourne who was the vocalist, Tony Lommi who was guitar, Geezer Butler who was bass, and Bill Ward who played drums.
